Currently we do not have an uninstaller. If you want to remove Avandrive completely for Mac remove all files from the following locations:

No. You cannot make any changes to files from the web portal. Avandrive Backup always keeps an exact copy of what you have on your computer online (no duplicates) therefore you can`t edit or delete.
Avandrive Storage enables you to access, view and edit your files online through your web portal wherever and whenever you wish.
- Can I upload new files to Avandrive Backup online?

Avandrive`s Backup automatically creates copies of every file stored in your computer, and backups it up into the cloud. It also backs up into the cloud any new files you add on your computer or any changes you make onto existing files. However, you cannot upload files directly into the cloud.
If you wish to upload files directly into the cloud and at the same time across multiple devices through our synchronization feature, choose to get your very own powerful Avandrive Storage.
- How many computers can I use with Avandrive Backup?

A single Avandrive Backup account is for one computer only. You can add additional devices for backup for only €11.40/year +VAT per device, but all devices will be managed through a single account. If you wish to have different account (usernames and passwords) for your backups then you need to subscribe for a new Avandrive Backup package.
Alternatively, an Avandrive Pro package lets you backup three computers and also gives you the powerful Avandrive Storage capabilities at a special price.
- How can I recover a previous version of a file?

You can easily do that by going to your web portal and selecting the particular file you want to recover. You will then be able to see the different versions categorised under your document. Avandrive keeps up to 30 versions for any of your files and gives you the ability to restore these versions at any time.
- Can I restore multiple files at the same time?

Yes. You can choose to restore your files on any computer all together or one-by-one. You can do that by going on line on your web portal, backup and then choose the folder you want to download the files to.
Avandrive Restore makes it easy to download and restore large files and folders that you have backed up with Avandrive Backup. To restore all your files at once simply right click on the Avandrive icon located in your task bar and choose 'Restore Backups'. Then simply choose the file/s you want restore and where you wish to restore them.
Please Note: To use Avandrive Restore on your Mac, just click on the Avandrive icon near your clock and select 'Restore from Backup'.
- How can I set Avandrive to scan my computer in real-time?

Real Time backup means that after you have backed up all your folders, every time you edit a file or folder, download a file or add something new on your computer, it's going to be automatically backed up on Avandrive`s cloud at the same time.
1) To activate Real Time Backup go to the right bottom side of your Taskbar and find Avandrive`s logo.


2) Click on it once to open and choose `Manage Backups`.

3) Click on `Settings` and on the Backup Schedule you can choose the `Scheduled Backup` option if you wish for example to backup your computer every 1 hour, or to schedule between what hours you want your backups to be carried out.

4) In order to backup your computer every time you make changes simply select the `Real Time Backup` option.
Please note: In both occasions you have the option to choose which files you do not want to include in your backups.
- How do I view or edit documents through the web portal?

You can view supported documents through the Avandrive backup and Avandrive storage but you can only edit your files with Avandrive storage.
Avandrive uses many 3rd party applications to allow you to view and edit your documents. However, be aware that you can only update existing documents and you can`t change the name of your file.
Applications we use:
- Zoho: Allows you to edit Office documents. Please note that you cannot modify Excel 2010 documents, i.e. xlsx
- Scribd: Allows you to view your documents.
- FotoFlexer: Allows you to view and edit your images.
- Pixlr: Allows you to view and edit your images.
- How do I recover a deleted file?

Any deleted files from your device/s recycle bin are kept on our data centers for an extra 30 days and they can be retrieved at any time.
To restore files from the web portal (Backup and Storage) navigate through the web portal to the location the file was in and on `View Options` click to enable the `Show Deleted` option. You will then see the deleted items grayed out and you can download them through the web portal by double clicking on them to open and choosing the download option.
- How can I remove data from my backups?

You can remove individual items from your backup by deleting the item from your machine or by removing them from your backup selection.
You cannot remove an entire computer (the entire backup) unless you raise a support request to do so.You can raise a support ticket to our website. Make sure that you specify which computer you want to be removed from your backup selection.
Note: If you wish to stop the computer from being able to backup you must remove it from your account.
- When does Avandrive Backup run?

Avandrive Backup works quietly in the background and backs up your files as you work. There is no need to keep your PC on overnight or worry whether the backup ran at a certain time- you are protected at all times.
NOTE: You can choose to schedule your backup from `Settings` if that is more convenient for your business.
- How can I view the files I have backed up?

The files that you have backed up are all available to view from your web portal. Login with your Avandrive account using your email address and password and then view your backups by clicking on the backup tab. You can download your files or folders from here with one click and also view your office documents, play your music, watch your movies and display your photos.
- What if I have bought the Home Backup package and after 3 months` time I have decided for an upgrade to Home Pro? What will be the expiration date of my account and how much should I have to pay for the upgrade?

To order your Avandrive Home Backup please follow the next steps:

When you upgrade your Home Storage to Home Pro package the difference of the price is calculated (pro-rata cost) to describe a proportional allocation to your purchase. Therefore the expiration date will be the same with your initial purchase of Home Storage and you will just pay the period difference between your upgrade.

You will then have to enter our username and password and you will have instant access to all your files. This means that you have 24/7 access to your data from any web-connected computer, any place in the world.
- How do I change the drive letter from L: to something else?

The default installation of Avandrive will select `L` as your drive letter. For any reason that `L` is not available, an alternative will be selected automatically.
However, you can choose a different drive letter if you wish by following these steps:
1. Go to `Avandrive Settings'
2. Select `Advanced`
3. Choose from the drop down menu the letter you want to use and click on `Apply`.
- Do I need to have an internet connection to use the Storage drive?

You will need to have an internet connection to set up Avandrive Storage. The desktop software will upload and download files to and from your computer every time you change them. Nevertheless, you would still be able to view and edit your files while you travel with no internet connection, and any changes you make will be synchronized up the next time you connect to the internet.

Avandrive can keep up to 30 versions of a file and you can restore any of these versions at any time you wish.
To restore files from the web portal (Storage and Backup) go to the location the file was in and double click to open it. Choose which version you want to download from underneath.
You can also use the `Restore Client` to do this. Within the restore client right click on a file and choose `View Older Versions`.
Note: You can download a previous version of a file only if it has been fully uploaded.
- How do I view or edit documents through the web portal?

- How do I get the Avandrive Storage drive on my PC or MAC?
- How can I share files?

With Avandrive you can share unlimited files publicly or privately.
Share from the Web Portal: To share from the web portal go to the file or folder in your storage, right click on it and select share.
Share from your Windows PC: Go to your Avandrive Storage drive, right click on any file you wish to share and on the Avandrive tab choose `Web Sharing`.
Share from your MAC: Navigate to the file or folder in your storage drive, click on it, click on the Avandrive icon, then `Selected Files` -> `Share`.
Note: Sharing is controlled at the top-most level that a share is applied. It is not possible to share sub-folders with different permissions to their parent except where there is no sharing set at the parent level.
- Avandrive under Linux

Avandrive does not have a Linux client and we do not provide support for Linux users. However, you can access files you have stored with Avandrive through the web portal.

Please make sure that you know what you are doing. With a Pro package or Business standard account you can use FTP, SFTP or WebDav to access your Storage.
You can mirror a folder on your machine with your Storage using the 3rd party application 'lftp'.
Once lftp is installed you must create the script which controls what it does. A simple example is:
lftp -u youravandrivemailaddress@provider.com,youravandrivepassword ftp.avandrive.com/
mirror -R -v ~/quit.The first line of this script tells lftp to connect to Avandrive's FTP service with your Avandrive username and password.
The second line, tells lftp to sync your home directory to the FTP service.
The third line tells lftp to quit.lftp synchronizes your folders recursively so if your home folder is very big then you might like to limit it to just one folder within your home directory. If so, you could change the second line so it just backs up your Documents folder:
mirror -R -v ~/Documents/ .If you prefer to upload the contents to a specific folder in your Avandrive account, e.g. a folder called 'MyLinuxPC' you would change the first line of the script:
lftp -u yourAvandriveemailaddress@provider.com,yourAvandrivepassword ftp.avandrive.com/MyLinuxPC/Once you've finished the script you need to save it to your home folder with a sensible name, e.g. Avandrivesync.
You can then run this script whenever you want to backup your computer and it will upload any new or changed files (the first time you run it, it will upload everything):
lftp -f ~/AvandrivesyncYou may wish to schedule this to run routinely by adding the script to your crontab. To schedule it to run every hour just type the command:
crontab -eAdd the following line to your cron tab file:
0 * * * * lftp -f ~/AvandrivesyncThis will tell your system to run the script every hour, on the hour, so your files are being constantly backed up - you will need to ensure the the initial upload has completed as if your upload takes more than an hour then you'll end up with two versions of lftp running and both syncing the same files which can cause issues. You may also wish to set it to run less frequently.
- Can I choose not to store any files on my hard drive and store all my files only online?

You can simply do that by going to your Avandrive Storage drive, right click on the files you do not want to keep on your local drive and select `Do not keep a copy on my computer`. If you do that you will not be able to access those files when your computer is offline.
You can also change your Avandrive Storage setting so that you do not automatically keep any files on your local drive but manually choose which files you want to keep or no files at all. Do that by going to your Avandrive Control Panel, select Online Files and click `Just store my files online and then manually choose which files to store on my computer`.
- Why does my storage drive show the wrong size? Why can`t I use all my storage?

The properties of the Avandrive Storage always mirror the local drive used as the cache drive so you know how much space you have available for storing files locally.
The actual amount of space left for your storage is shown in the `Account Settings` section of the web portal.
If you are running out of local drive then you will have to manage your settings in order to store your extra files and folders only online or to manually choose which files you want to keep also on your computer. You can do that by going to your `Avandrive Settings Panel` => `Online Files` => `Store my files only - I will choose what to store on my computer`.

Avandrive Business allows a business to create user accounts for its staff. Each user account is able to be set up with Avandrive Backup and Avandrive Storage access.

- Can I control the quality/speed of video streaming?

Yes. You can have full control over the balance between the quality and speed of video playback. For instance, if you find that videos are pausing or buffering for too long then you might want to reduce playback quality. To do that, just go to `Settings` and select `Video Bandwidth`. There are different settings for both Wi-Fi and 3G, so that you can set preferences for these independently.
- How do I get the Avandrive mobile apps?

Avandrive mobile apps are available on the iTunes App Store or Android Market. Just search for "Open Access" and get the apps for free all you need to use is your Avandrive account login details to get started. Once the app has been downloaded, just open it and it will ask you for your Avandrive username and password.
- How does caching work on the mobile apps?

When you access a file on the mobile app unless it`s a video or music that streams straight from Avandrive it is cached locally on your device. This means that when you next want to access it you do not have to wait for it to download. When your cache is full, older files that you have not used recently will `roll over and be removed from the cache. If you want to reduce the cache size, go to `Settings` and change the `Cache Size` option. The smaller the cache size, the less space it will use on your device but the more likely it is that Avandrive will have to download files when you view them.
- What features are available on the mobile apps?

The Avandrive mobile applications are packed with many useful features like:
• View Office, iWork, PDF or RTF documents anytime.
• Stream all your music and browse through it by Album, Artist, Genre or Year, even if the music is not in iTunes.

The app supports a broad range of document, video, photo and music formats which are growing all of the time. Currently the most common formats accepted on the iPhone are:
• Documents: DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, PDF, RTF, TXT, HTML, Pages, Keynote, Numbers.
• Video: MP4, M4V, MOV, WMV, MKV, ASF, AVI, DIVX, MPEG, OGM, XVID, FLV, VOB.

- What are sharing accounts?

When an Avandrive user privately shares a file with someone who does not have an Avandrive account, it creates a free account called a `Sharing Account`. The recipient automatically receives an email with a user name and a password for that account and can securely login to see all of the files that have been shared with them.
Sharing accounts are totally free and are not time limited. The user can login and view the files shared with them for as long as they want.
Sharing accounts have very limited functionality sharing users cannot upload new files to Avandrive, install the Desktop Software or edit files online. Sharing users can upgrade their accounts very easily by simply going to the `Account Settings` screen and clicking on upgrade.
- If I am not a member of Avandrive, do I have to pay for any shared files received from an existing member?

The Avandrive Control Panel has a built-in repair tool that detects and fixes any problems that may occur.
You can run the repair tool from the shortcut on your desktop. Simply click on the Avandrive icon in your task bar, then click on 'Settings', select the`Advanced` tab, then select 'Integrity Check' tab and finally click on 'Run'.
Please Note: It usually takes around 15 minutes to complete and the machine must be left idle whilst it completes the tool repair.

The Avandrive Desktop Software is created to make your Avandrive experience faster and easier. If you are an Avandrive Backup customer, it works quietly in the background to protect your data while you work. If you are an Avandrive Storage customer it creates a new drive on your computer where you can access your files/folders straight away. If you are an Avandrive Business user, the desktop software provides you with easy access to your personal storage drive and team folders. Regardless of what type of Avandrive account you have, you only need to install one piece of software on your computer and you are ready to go.

No - There are absolutely no limitations on how much bandwidth you can use or the speed of your transfers. Our data centers have very fast connections. However, we have no control over your internet provider. Also, with Avandrive you can even control your bandwidth by moving it up or down from your `Settings => Bandwidth" depending on your internet speed.

- How safe is my data with Avandrive?

Your data is safely and securely stored on multiple data centres around the world, ensuring that your files are fully protected and cannot be lost.
Any file stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256 military grade encryption. It is very unlikely for someone to compromise any of our data but even if that happens there is absolutely no way for them to view the content. This storage encryption is done automatically by our web service on receipt of the file.
You can also choose to activate the SSL encryption on your web browser for double-protection if you wish.
Any data stored at Avandrive cannot be accessed by any of our employees due to the fact that there is no way for an employee to know your username or password. Furthermore, we have very powerful restriction policies to avoid such an incident.

1) Go to the Paypal website (www.paypal.com).

2) Click on the `Sign up` button located at the bottom of the `Account log-in` box or find the `Sign up` button on the top of the page.

3) Select your country and language and then your desired account type.
Note: The simplest account, which is free of charge and covers all of your personal needs, is `PayPal For You`.

4) Click on 'Get Started' underneath the type of account chosen.

5) Enter your contact information (name, address, email, etc).
Note: Use your current email address so that forgotten passwords can be retrieved.

6) Choose your password.
Note: Your password must be at least 9 characters in length.

7) Click on `I Agree and consent to the terms of`.

8) PayPal will automatically send you a confirmation email once you click on `Agree and Create Account`.

9) Open the email you received from PayPal and click on `Activate`. This will automatically activate and open your PayPal account in a new window.

Please Note: Tickets regarding our technical support and other departments can be submitted by existing Avandrive members only. To submit a support ticket you must follow the steps listed below:
1) Go to www.Avandrive.com
2) Enter your user name and password to log into your Avandrive Account.

3) After logging in, on the top drop down menu of your account information go to `Support` and click on `New Ticket`.

4) Select the appropriate department to submit your inquiry.

5) You will notice that your name and email address will automatically be imprinted on the first 2 fields. Fill in the remaining fields and try to be as clear as possible when describing what you need, in order for our support team to be able to effectively help you. If you wish, you may also attach files to further assist us with your problem.
Please Note: You can only add files with the following extensions: .jpg, .gif, .jpeg, .png

6) You will then be notified that your ticket has been successfully created and that an email, containing the ticket information, has been sent to your email address. Our support department will get back to you very soon.
